PARIS — Heads of state at the next G7 Summit are set to endorse declarations on specific issues, spanning from health to critical minerals, while geopolitical talks will be addressed in a statement by the French presidency.
Leaders will meet in Evian, France, on June 15-17 and are expected to agree on ad hoc declarations on topics including critical minerals, research to fight cancer, online child protection, international solidarity, social impact investment and investment de-risking in fragile countries, the office of French President Emmanuel Macron said Thursday.
However, discussions on global imbalances, the crisis in the Middle East, the blockade of the Hormuz Strait and the war in Ukraine will be reflected in a statement by the French presidency, rather than a joint communiqué signed by all leaders. Last year, the Canadian presidency adopted the same solution for the G7 summit in Kananaskis.
